New Website Launched

Our great new website is now up and running. At www.barton-rovers.com
you will find everything that you could possibly want to know about the club.

Key features include;

· A section on every team – all the players, results, fixtures, league tables and match reports.
· A forum where you can leave messages, make a point and get information.
· All the latest club news to help you stay in touch
· Links to other websites including the Burton, Lichfield and Derby Leagues.

It really is a great site and a big thanks is due to Mick Cole for coming up with the idea and seeing it through.

We would like everyone to use the site – players, managers and parents – so please visit the site and register. It only takes a couple of minutes and you can then access all areas; the more people who use the site the better it will be.

Good luck for the new season

Good luck to all our players, and everyone associated with the club, as the new season starts. Enjoy your football!

A great presentation evening

We had a fantastic night at Holland Sports Club on Friday 16 June. Thanks to everyone who turned up to make the evening such a success.

It is great for all the players to be able to celebrate their contribution to the season
in such a terrific atmosphere. Well done to all the lads, and those who picked up player of the year awards in their particular age groups.

A big thank you to a number of people who made a very big contribution to the evening; Claire Williams for getting so much sorted for the event and Bev Mullis for helping sell the raffle tickets. Mick and Tracey Cole for organising the BBQ and Donna Brown for her assistance in a very hot kitchen! Not forgetting Alrewas butcher Peter Coates who donated all the food.

Whilst it was a very successful evening, we were aware of some shortcomings. Consequently we can promise you an even better time next year; a speedier bar service and a PA system that works are top of the priority list.

Predictor competition

Prizes were given out for the 05/06 season competition at the Presentation Evening. The winners were;

Under 16s

· James Hussein: JJB vouchers worth £40
· Sammy Hughes: £25
· Costas Marcou: £15
· James Fern: £10
· Adam Wiggins: £5

Adults

· Debbie Stokes: £50 cash
· Andy Davis: £25
· Martin Thompson: £15

Thanks to all who entered the competition and supported the club. Unfortunately, we barely broke even on the competition so we have decided not to run the Predictor this season.

Our sponsors

A big thank you to the organisations who support the club.

SPI (Superior Plumbing Installations) have renewed their sponsorship for the fourth year running. They will be supporting our under 13s, as they have since this set of lads were under 9s. Our thanks to John Dillon and everyone at SPI for their invaluable contribution.

Sports Kit Direct have now supported us for two years. Last year's under 14s were kit beneficiaries and this season Dave Mullis and his under 12s have benefited from SKD being our lead kit and equipment supplier. Simon Day at SKD has also supplied raffle prizes for our presentation evening-again a really valuable contribution to Barton Rovers.

Tydemans of Lichfield is the new sponsor for our under 9s. The team now has a very smart new blue training kit/second kit thanks to Myles Tydeman.
